Sustainable Food Security through Land Regeneration in a Changing Climate

World Vision Australia and World Vision Malawi, in partnership with the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) and the Alliance for CSA in Africa (ACSAA), are convening a second ‘Beating Famine’ Conference in April 2015 in Lilongwe, Malawi, leading on from the success of the first Beating Famine Conference held in Nairobi, Kenya in April 2012.

Beating Famine 2015 will have an international delegation of world class speakers, showcasing leading global land restoration techniques.

The Beating Famine events have a number of important sponsors and partners, including: the UNCCD, NEPAD, NORAD, The World Bank, The Global Environment Facility, Standard Bank of Africa, DfID, GIZ, the African Development Bank, the Government of Malawi.

WRI's Chris Reij and Bob Winterbottom will present and discuss scaling strategies for re-greening successes, and preliminary results from mapping and assessment of the density of trees on farms in Malawi
