Join us for an engaging conversation on the economic impacts of climate action, ways the US and Germany are overcoming challenges, and how they can further reform their electricity markets and other sectors to reach and exceed long-term renewables and climate targets.

Germany and the United States are demonstrating that curbing carbon emissions and driving economic growth is not only possible, but is already underway. Though their efforts to address climate change leave room to go farther, both countries have earned a track record of reaping economic and other rewards from dramatically ramping up renewables, increasing the efficiency of vehicles and fossil fuel power plants and achieving significant carbon reductions.

Join us for an engaging conversation with Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary of the German Ministry for the Environment and Jonathan Pershing, a Principal Deputy Director at the US Department of Energy, who will reflect on the economic impacts of climate action, ways each country is overcoming challenges, and how the United States and Germany can further reform their electricity markets and other sectors to reach and exceed long-term renewables and climate targets.

The discussion will be moderated by Andrew Steer, President and CEO, World Resources Institute. Participants are encouraged to join a breakfast networking session preceding the event.
