As Communications and Engagement Lead, Global Energy, Alex designs and implements communications strategies that strengthen the WRI Energy Program’s global reputation as a leading source of data and analysis about the state of the world’s energy transition.

Prior to joining WRI, Alex served as Senior Director, Global Marketing and Outreach at the Global Electronics Council, an organization that grows the marketplace for sustainable electronics. He was also the Head of Marketing Communications for OMRON Robotics and Safety Technologies, the largest robotics company based in the United States, and served as Marketing Director for Energy Recovery Inc., an innovator in worldwide desalination. Alex led public relations during the launch of Current TV, a national TV network co-founded by Al Gore. At Columbia University, he led communications for the institution’s largest program, ICAP, an HIV/AIDS initiative across 16 countries. He also led communications for The Synergos Institute, a global anti-poverty group run by the Rockefeller family.

Alex holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Communications from Columbia University, a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Trinity College, and an ISSP Sustainability Excellence Associate (SEA) certification from the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP).
