Alison Cinnamond is the Global Director for Strategic Communications and works to shape WRI's communications strategy and lead media relations for the institute. She oversees strategic messaging and outreach in support of WRI leadership, programs, centers and international offices and works across WRI’s global network to develop compelling narratives and advance the external profile for WRI as a leader on environment and international development.

Prior to WRI, Alison worked in global non-profits and in the private sector to drive impactful cross border communications campaigns. Through her work in South Africa, the United States, Switzerland, Vietnam, China, Japan, Bangladesh, and Qatar, she has led major media campaigns and worked with policymakers at the highest levels. She is an accomplished writer and has been published in leading publications across the globe.

Alison lives in Washington DC with her husband Don; her two children Bailey and Calla; and her dogs Mimi and Luna.
