Vijay Anadkat is Fellow at WRI India. He helps as mentor to the Gujarat Urban Development Mission, Urban Development & Urban Housing Department, Government of Gujarat for Smart city and AMRUT mission. He prepared all three State Level Annual Action Plan for Gujarat covering all 31 AMRUT mission cities of Gujarat. Besides, he supports improvement of Ahmedabad BRTS, Rajkot city bus route rationalization study, Gandhinagar city bus service, Surat Auto rickshaw study. He contributes to AMRUT and Smart city Mission training program of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.

Prior to joining WRI, Vijay worked as City Engineer at Rajkot Municipal Corporation, Rajkot (Gujarat-India) for more than 20 years. During that, he had been also deputed to UNDP as well as Urban Development Department, Government of Gujarat for three years. During his tenure with RMC, he prepared and implemented Rajkot City Development Plan, Rajkot City Mobility Plan, Rajkot Poverty Alleviation Plan, and Detailed Project Reports for Rajkot BRTS, Water supply, Sewerage and Solid Waste Management. He had also successfully planned and executed first phase of Rajkot BRTS. After leaving RMC, he joined CEPT University where he taught infrastructure and transportation planning subjects to the students of Bachelor and Master of Planning.

Vijay has a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from Gujarat Technological University. He also holds Master degree in Urban & Regional Planning and Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Law as well as Journalism. He speaks English, Hindi and Gujarati.

In spare times, he enjoys reading fiction and playing chess.
