Meaghan Phelan is Senior Manager, Foundation Relations, at the World Resources Institute. She oversees WRI’s portfolio of institutional foundations and works closely with WRI programs and leadership to link institutional, program, and country strategies with foundation priorities and interests.

Meaghan has ten years’ experience in creating and implementing successful development strategies and communications products for NGOs in the energy, environment, humanities, and information technology sectors. Prior to joining WRI, she served as the Senior Partnership Manager at the Institute for Industrial Productivity. Before this, she worked in government, corporate, and foundation relations at the Folger Shakespeare Library.

She holds a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts in both English Literature and Classics from Truman State University.

Meaghan is a national park enthusiast, as well as an avid hiker, runner, reader, and charcoal-griller. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband Kevin and their son Paddy and daughter Roisin.
